In times of stress, the levels of your stress hormones including adrenaline and cortisol shoot up. Fatty fishes like salmon, sardines and tuna are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids which have anti-inflammatory properties. This action helps in negating the effects of stress hormones.

 3. Blueberries:

Antioxidants can be your best friends when you’re stressed. Blueberries are bursting with antioxidants and phytonutrients which fight stress-related free radicals. This improves your body’s response to stress.

 4. Dark chocolate:

Yes, it’s true! Cocoa is also rich in antioxidants which help by making your blood vessels relax and thereby lowering blood pressure and improving circulation. Research has also proven that dark chocolate can lower the levels of stress hormones. To reap the stress-busting benefits of chocolate you need to choose a bar containing at least 70% cocoa. Well, not all addictions are harmful.

 5. Seeds:

Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds are rich in magnesium. Magnesium has myriad benefits including regulating emotions, alleviating symptoms of depression and irritability. It also helps in reducing fatigue and muscle cramps.

 6. Avocado:

This amazing fruit can surely help make your body stress-proof. Avocados are rich in strong antioxidants like beta-carotene, vitamin E and lutein which reduce oxidative stress. Just make sure you’re not munching on this fruit crazily as it is also high in fat.

 7. Milk:

Heard of the old adage about having a glass of warm milk before going to bed. Here’s why you need to do so. A glass of milk is an excellent remedy for insomnia and restlessness. Milk is a rich source of a host of nutrients including riboflavin, vitamin B12, protein and calcium. The milk protein lactium has a calming effect on the body. Milk also delivers potassium which helps alleviate spasms caused by feeling tense.
