Spiral Spring–The Best Tasting, Most Potent Spirulina!
Now a days the big buzz word in nutrition is superfoods, foods that are loaded with health benefits. When you want to make sure you’re eating a good diet, you can fill your plate up with as many superfoods as you can think of, blueberries, orange vegetables, leafy greens, etc. It’s hard to get all of our nutrients from food alone, though, and sometimes we are on the go and need something quick and effective.
I recently discovered Spiral Spring spirulina products. Spirulina is actually one of the most nutritious foods on the planet! Spirulina has protein, nutrients, vitamins, minerals and tons of antioxidants. Spirulina is a blue-green algae known to strengthen the immune system, improve eye health, aids the digestive system, lowers cholesterol, and helps detoxify the body. Spirulina is super rich in protein and contains all of the essential amino acids. It also has four times as much B12 as raw liver!
The cool thing about Spiral Spring, which has been around for about 15 years now, is it’s the only supplier that uses arthrospira maxima instead of arthrospira patensis. Arthrospira maxima packs far more nutrients than the platensis which most other companies use. Spiral Spring also offers not only just spirulina powder (which most of us are familiar with); but also tablets and yummy snacks. I am in love with the marzapan snacks and have even convinced Timothy to try one!
Spiral Spring is organic and non GMO. I like to add the powder to my smoothies and also sneak it into pancakes, oatmeal and even sauces. Here’s a recipe, (perfect for St. Patty’s day too), for my favorite spirulina protein shake:
1 scoop protein powder of choice (whey, soy, or pea) vanilla flavored
1 cup milk of choice (almond, rice, cow, or soy)
1 teaspoon Spiral Springs spirulina powder
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup fresh or frozen berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries or strawberries)
1 cup ice
1 tablespoon nut butter (cashew, almond, peanut, macadamia)
1 tsp coconut oil
Blend all together and voila!
Healthy, energizing, full of protein and nutrient dense, Spiral Spring is seriously an awesome addition to your diet. If you want to try out some Spiral Spring and get 20% off your order, use my code Kristin20!
