Halloween means candy, cakes and caramel apples, right? Not for me! Here are some healthier options to bring to your next Halloween Party that are great for both kids and adults:
Spread a dollop of peanut or almond butter onto apple slice, stick in minimarshmallows, top with an apple slice with PB to hold into place.

Thai-spiced Deviled Eggs (via CoolMomPicks )
- 6 Eggs
- 2 Tablespoons thick coconut milk, cold(not low fat) or mayonnaise
- 2 Teaspoons Thai Curry paste (we used the Thai Kitchen brand)
- 1 Teaspoon ketchup
- ½ Teaspoon paprika plus more to sprinkle
- ½ Teaspoon spicy mustard
- ¼ Teaspoon Sriracha or other red chili sauce
- Salt to taste
For the pumpkin look –
- 1 Spring/green onion
Cover the eggs with an inch of cold water and bring to a boil. Boil for a minute, then cover and set aside for 10 minutes. Drain and then fill the pan with cold water. After 5 minutes, peel the eggs. Slice each egg length-wise and gently remove the yolks. Place the yolks and all the other ingredients in a small bowl and mash until very smooth. Mound the yolk mixture into the egg whites or transfer it to a zip-top bag and pipe it out. Wet your finger and pat the surface of the filling smooth. Using a toothpick draw lines to make the ‘pumpkin’ indentations. Sprinkle with paprika if desired. Cut up the green part of the onion to make tiny stems and add them to finish off the pumpkin look.
- 1 medium banana
- 1 cup white chocolate
- 8 mini chocolate chips
- 4 popsicle sticks
Cut banana in half lengthwise, then in half to make four quarters. Insert popsicle sticks into bananas, and freeze bananas on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. When the bananas are frozen, fill a coffee mug with chocolate. Melt chocolate in the microwave 30 seconds at a time, stirring until the chocolate is melted and soft.
Dip the bananas one at a time into the chocolate, scraping off the excess chocolate from the back of the banana, and place it on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Quicklyadd the chocolate chips for the eyes before the chocolate hardens (you have to work quickly here). Return to the freezer until frozen and ready to eat. Eat frozen.
Gross-out Guac Pumpkin
