I Heart Nail Art Contest with Sally Hansen & My Own Personal Nail Art Creation!
I must admit, I am often at the nail salon. First of all, it’s very inexpensive to get a mani/pedi in NYC. I have a great place just blocks away from my new apartment and it’s only $19 for both! As a yoga teacher, my toes are always exposed so I feel like I especially have to keep on top of my pedicures. I usually go for some color on my toes and a neutral color on my nails.
Lately, I’ve been inspired by all of the beautiful nail art designs I’ve seen. I feel like it’s time to break out the polish and try experimenting on my own. I can’t believe how meditative it is to do my nails and I love being creative and experimenting with different colors, looks and designs.
Being the perfectionist that I am, I’m happy to have found Sally Hansen products. Sally Hansen polishes are user friendly and fun. The applicator is perfectly shaped, I never make too many mistakes. Sally Hansen has an array of colors, as well as a great all in one base and top coat. I also love the nail art pen and decals.
I was inspired on Easter Sunday morning to use pretty pastel colors and the Girl Flower salon effects polish strips. I first applied the two salon effects real nail polish strips on my 4th fingers. The strips are the easiest things in the world to use; and the package comes with 16 nail polish strips, a cuticle stick, mini file and buffer. After the strips were on, I used Sally Hansen all in one base and top coat on each nail. Next, I painted all but my pinky fingers with Presto Pink Insta-Dri fast dry nail color. Then, I used Blue Away Insta-dri on my pinky fingers.
I loved how girly I felt with my nails done this way and it put me right in the Easter and Spring spirit. Doing my own nails replaced dying Easter eggs. I used to love doing Easter eggs with my family and experimenting with the beautiful colors and egg wrappers. The polish strips almost remind me of the wrap arounds we used to shrink wrap on to the eggs. It’s so much fun to experiment with color combinations and designs. I think I could really get in to doing this every Sunday as a treat to myself and a way to relax. The perfect time to meditate is while waiting for nails to dry!
