How-To: Upward-Facing Dog Pose
Upward-Facing Dog is actually one of my favorite postures. Upward dog stretches out the entire front body, works the scapula, triceps, obliques and back muscles; and it’s a wonderful gentle backbend at the beginning of a practice.
A great counter pose to Downward-Facing Dog, Upward Dog lifts the chest and lengthens the quadriceps while activating the hamstrings.
Here’s a quick how to video to help you with your Upward dog if you are new to the practice. If you are an advanced yogi, you might learn something new as you review the pose with a beginner’s mindset.
