How to Stay Healthy Throughout Your Busy Life–Guest Post by Lauren Byrd
It’s hard to stick with a healthy plan as it is, but when you add in all the other responsibilities and duties of daily life, it can be a little overwhelming. It can be difficult to keep track of work tasks, take care of your family and home, as well as follow a healthy diet and fitness plan. You need to be truly committed to making healthy choices.
Here are some ideas to help keep you healthy through all the hustle and bustle of life.
- Meal Prep/Plan
I can’t stress the importance of planning out your meals enough. I have found that planning out meals not only helps keep me healthy, but it keeps my wallet happy too! If you go ahead and plan out your meals for the week, you will be less likely to find a last minute fast-food option to satisfy your hunger.
I began meal prepping about a year ago, and I am definitely a fan. Sure, it took a little while before prepping became a habit, but once I added it into my routine, I was hooked. I usually do my meal prepping on Sunday so I can get a good start to my week. I usually try to prep for the whole week and leave going out to eat for the weekends. If you have some extra time, you should definitely consider fitting meal prepping into your schedule.
- Make Time for a Workout
A quick workout is better than no workout. If you’re pushed for time, try to sneak in a quick workout during your lunch break or during your break time. Check out these workouts you can fit in during your lunch break.
It’s also much easier to stick with a workout if you schedule your workouts like any other appointment (and don’t cancel!). If you can’t fit in a workout, go for a walk or jog. There are so many health benefits to walking and running like relieving stress.
Be creative and find some other ways you can add in some extra exercise to your day. Park at the back of a lot when shopping or at work. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or purchase a fitness tracker so that you can be aware of your daily activity and amp it up when needed!
Stay organized and productive so that you do have time to fit in a workout! Did you know that yoga and meditation can actually help you improve your time management? Check out some tips here.
- Drink Water
Water, water, water – and lots of it! I bring a tumbler to work so that I can fill it up during the day. I try to be sure to hit the recommended 8 glasses a day, and keeping my tumbler around helps me stay on track.
I don’t keep any sodas at my house so that I won’t be tempted to drink them. It was hard to break my love for sodas, but it definitely got easier!
- Sleep
Sleep is such an important aspect of being healthy. I must admit, this is the hardest thing for me to do. You should always try to get 8 hours of good, quality sleep each night. You will feel better and be more productive. I am really working on this, because I know the benefits of good sleep.
Although there are busy times in life, you won’t regret the decision to commit to a healthy lifestyle.

Doesn’t matter how busy you are, you have to get a good night sleep, otherwise, everything else will suffer. Great post!
I also agree with Kelli Gardener that good sleep is a vital issue for maintaining healthy life. It seems to me that Meditation is an another important issue for every day life style.
