Healthy Snack Bars!
Let’s talk about health bars. Some are just that: healthy. While others are full of sugar and ingredients you can’t pronounce. As a full time working mom of three active boys; I rely on bars to keep me going throughout the day. What I look for in a bar is the protein content being higher than the sugar content, the serving sizes (some are a meal, not a snack), and the fiber content.
Here is a list of some of my favorite bars that are made with only whole ingredients, have added fiber, and protein are all around 250 calories or less, and have a good amount of protein.
Gratisfied
Gratisfied protein bars are as pure as they come with no grains, gluten, soy, or dairy. This is great if you have (or your kids) have allergies or you’re sticking to a keto or paleo diet.
Gratisfied has absolutely no artificial flavors or colors and comes in two flavors V bars or Empower bars which are both delicious. The founder, Sara McGlothlin is a holistic nutritionist, food writer, and yoga teacher based in Richmond, VA. She first created the Empower Bar™ for friends, family, and clients. Once she found out how much people loved them, she knew she wanted to share them with the world. And I can’t help but share them with you!
Check out their website, and enjoy one of the Gratisfied bars for yourself.
Papa Steve’s Protein Bars

KIND Bars
KIND Bars will always lead with a nutrient-dense first ingredient – like whole nuts, whole grains, or whole fruit – a disruptive notion that sparked the creation of a new healthy snacking category. They are also very committed to crafting food with real, recognizable ingredients and work with farmers who share that passion.
KIND Bars are one of my favorite snack bars mid-morning or to give to the kid’s midday in case they get a little hungry before dinner.
There are so many different yummy flavors, and you can check them all out on their website.
Raw Rev
I love the raw rev glo bars and all of their yummy flavors. Peanut butter dark chocolate and sea salt is probably my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of them. The bars are 100% vegan and nut-based. They are also affordable and made with all-natural ingredients.
In addition to the glo bars, there are also organic bars. You can get a sampler pack which is super fun to try out all the flavors first and then decide which ones you want to keep stocked in your home. I put mine in my freezer and indulge in one usually mid-afternoon.
Nuttzo Bars
I’ve always been a HUGE fan of nuttzo nut butters so I was super excited when they came out with bars!
One of my favorite things about these bars is that they all have a different function. You can choose your function from collagen, to matcha, or probiotics.
These refrigerated protein snack bars are low in sugar, and high in protein which is perfect! I am always sure to stock my shelves with these healthy treats for myself and the boys.

Mezcla
Looking for a plant-based bar? Mezcla’s are plant-based, soy-free, and dairy-free. The organic chocolate that coats this bar is made from fully fermented cocoa beans and grown by smallholder farmers along the foothills of the Andean Mountain region in Peru.
The Peruvian Chocolate is smooth and has subtle floral notes that are characteristic of the cocoa beans in the region; and said to be the best chocolate in the world by many. Paired with peanuts, this bar is perfect for all you PB Chocolate lovers out there. I like that these bars are a bit lower in calories for those who want something less filling. I love one of these with a cup of tea mid morning or afternoon.
Naturally Clean Eats
Naturally Clean Eats Bars are everything you want in a healthy snack. These prebiotic plant-based nutrition bars aim to help promote good health.
There is absolutely nothing artificial in naturally clean eats bars; no artificial flavors or additives, just pure, simple ingredients.
Naturally clean east have so many great options to choose from, including almond blueberry, oatmeal raisin cookie, and peanut butter chocolate chip. I love it when I get added greens without even realizing it; you’d never know there is hidden spinach in these delicious bars. I truly love how giving this company is as well. They have donated so many boxes of bars to frontline workers during the pandemic.
