Fresh Fruit Smoothie for Glowing Skin this Summer!
When I was in my early 20’s, I had an Argentine roommate, named Romina, for 3 months in the summer. She was the first person to introduce me to mangoes! I loved sharing one with her in the morning. The sweet, juicy taste of a fresh mango for breakfast is so invigorating. Once we each ate our half, Romina would peel open the skin flesh and rub it all over her face. Romina always had the best skin and now I know why!
Fruits such as mango, papaya, strawberries, watermelon, oranges all have such high antioxidants, which are great for our skin. Eaten or applied topically, fruit is incredible for giving us a natural glow and protecting us against the sun and free radicals. There is no need to spend a ton of money on expensive extracts, when you can use what you have in your refrigerator.
In a blender combine the following ingredients:
¼ cup diced fresh or frozen mango cubed
½ cup fresh or frozen strawberries
½ of a fresh or frozen banana
A splash of fresh squeezed orange juice
1 cup of coconut water or regular water
1 scoop of protein powder (or use a half cup of plain regular or greek yogurt for a thicker smoothie)
Serve in a tall glass and garnish with a strawberry.
