Favorite Cool Treats that Won’t Pack on the Pounds!

The Summer heat has finally hit full steam! All of this hot weather and ice cream trucks everywhere, can make it really tempting to indulge in some sweet cool treats every day. Now that I’m pregnant with twins, I’ve been craving ice cream for 3 people! I completely believe in indulging every once in a while; but having ice cream everyday could really pack on the pounds and cause bloating. I have such a soft spot for ice cream, though, I’ve found some great healthy, tasty ice cream alternatives.
Brio: Made with organic milk and natural ingredients and less sugar than your normal ice cream shop scoop.  I love the Madagascar Vanilla – you can actually taste the vanilla bean! I also feel good about giving this to Timothy since they’re all natural ingredients.

Arctic Zero : You could eat a whole pint for less than 200 calories!!! Need I say more?

Enlightened Bars:  I LOVE the fudge flavor, it reminds me of a Fudgesicle. This is my go to for a chocolate craving on a hot day. You can read more about them here.

Talenti: This stuff is the real deal, but sometimes the real stuff satisfies your cravings the best. And Talenti is soooo good! They have pops, gelato and sorbetto. Their gelato reminds me of being in Italy.

 Even though these treats are healthier, it’s still important to watch portion sizes and make sure not to over do it. I sometimes will drink a glass of water before reaching for ice cream so that I’m already a little full when I start eating and don’t end up have a whole pint.  I believe in moderation – try to make grabbing for a sweet treat just that, a treat vs. a habit.
