Aqua Sphere Giveaway!

I love the Holidays, especially in NYC! Everywhere you go there are festive lights and special Holiday shops with fun handmade goodies. It definitely is the “most wonderful time of the year,” but this time of year also means that days are getting shorter and it’s starting to get colder outside. For some of you, winter means that those days of outside workouts need to take a break for a few months. I know personally I have to be more conscious about getting my workouts in during the winter because I get less of the everyday activity like taking walks and chasing Timothy around the park.

 

Logging hours indoors on the treadmill, stationary bike, or swimming laps sounds a bit daunting, but Aqua Sphere introduced me to a cool new workout idea that makes heading indoors a little more exciting! This year Aqua Sphere came out with a new line of pool training gear created by Olympic medalist Amanda Beard and internationally recognized fitness expert Mark Grevelding. The latest of their innovations is Aqua X Power Glove and Aqua X Core Belt. I’m not a huge swimmer (it’s something I always wished I better at), but these products introduce a new way to get into the pool.

The Core Belt is meant to be used for deep-water jogging, calisthenics and power drills; it helps to maintain vertical alignment meant to engage core muscles, eliminate impact on joints, and increase calories burned during a workout.

The Aqua X Power Glove and Aqua X Core are a great way to keep up your cross-training over winter without your workouts getting stale! They come with a 30-minute interval style training routine and the program is customizable to fit any fitness level. I like that if you follow the training routine, you can gauge your progress as you enhance your fitness level throughout the season by reducing your recovery time, increasing intensity intervals, etc. The workouts seem like a great way for all you runners out there to stay in shape in between races!

  • Swimming is actually one of my favorite winter workouts! Because I love to surf but hate the cold, using the pool at my gym is a lifesaver during the winter so I can at least train to get back on the board! I have a series of “above the water” surf stability exercises that I do with my yoga as well, and will incorporate a sideways kick board under my chest to simulate some of of the altered stroke positioning of paddling with a surfboard beneath me!
