If You’re Terrible In The Kitchen Then Try These Simpe Hacks

Unfortunately we weren’t all born to be domestic goddesses; and sometimes there is a lot to be desired where the kitchen is concerned. If you find that your skills in the kitchen tend to be managing to burn everything or ruining countless sets of pots and pans, then I have some tips for you! Just simple little things can help you on your way to becoming a better cook, and your loved ones will certainly be happy that you are. You’ll be whipping up some killer meals in no time.  Just remember that practice makes perfect.

  1. Spice things up a little

If you feel like your meal choices are constantly bland then the remedy could be as simple as adding a few herbs and spices to your dishes. Spices can add huge amounts of flavor and you don’t really have to do much, other than lift an arm and stir. Transform your boring chicken or fish into a treat for your tastebuds. The best part is they make your food taste so much tastier, without the extra unwanted calories.

  1. Preparation is key

If you find that you get a little flustered in the kitchen (for the pan burners out there, I’m talking to you specifically) then it might mean that you just need to prepare before you start cooking. If you get all your ingredients and utensils out before you start preparing your meal, then you’re far less likely to mess up. Chopping and slicing all of the vegetables and ingredients takes more time than we realize, and that’s often how we fall behind. Invest in some good prep bowls as well to keep things organized and clean. One of the most important thing about cooking is timing, so get organized and you won’t ruin your meal by getting behind on things.

  1. Invest in some gadgets

There are some things that are better done when aided by technology. Whether you splash out on a Cuisinart 7 cup food processor or a blender that takes no prisoners, having a little support in the kitchen certainly won’t do you any harm. One of the best things I could have done is invest in a great blender, rice cooker and crockpot!

  1. Keep things sharp

You aren’t going to be able to serve up some impressive dishes if you don’t own a good set of knives. Once you have a great set, make sure you’re maintaining them and keeping them sharp. Not only will it save your wrist unneeded pain, it will also speed things up and save you time in the kitchen.

This is just a short list of things that will help you out in the kitchen immediately. I would love to know if you have any cooking secrets to share with me.
