Yoga Pose for Glowing Skin this Summer!

The summer I graduated college, I was actively pursing my yoga career. I took at least one class every day and taught as much as I could. Not a day went by that I wasn’t upside down! My skin has always been healthy and glowing and I credit it to my yoga practice.

Yoga benefits our skin by flushing out toxins as we move and sweat. Yoga stimulates our lymphatic system and helps us breathe new life and energy in to our body and skin. We keep our skin young by turning upside down in forward hangs and inversions, which brings blood flow to our face.  All exercise is great for our skin and summer is the perfect time to get out and get moving. Here’s a simple yoga move you can do daily, to keep your skin radiant and alive:

Standing Forward Bend—Stand with your feet together and hinge forward from your waist. Let your head hang heavy and engage your leg muscles and lower abdominals. If your hamstrings are super tight, bend your knees and keep the weight forward in your arches; or put your hands on a yoga block.

Try a standing forward hang for 2-3 minutes twice a day.
