Summer time is always the perfect time to take your yoga practice outdoors and do some Sun Salutations in the warm summer sun. I love being able to do yoga poses or yoga flows at the park, on the beach or on top of a roof deck. I was recently home in Idaho for my nephew’s graduation and shot this great outdoor flow that is perfect for getting the blood circulating and stretching out the body.
Our skin is our body’s largest organ and it is super important to bring blood flow to the skin to keep it healthy and rejuvenated. If you are practicing outdoors, make sure to put on ample sunscreen and drink antioxidant rich teas. Black and green teas contain antioxidants which can offer protection from sunburn from the inside out. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology,
drinking tea can help prevent UV-induced skin cancers.
