I’ve written about David Romanelli, Yeah Dave, in the past. He’s really a truly incredible friend, colleague, mentor, author and inspiration. I always look forward to his emails and posts, they make my day. Dave knows how to seize each day and truly savor each moment. His book makes the perfect gift for yourself or others too!

Dave and I met over 8 years ago when I went out to Arizona to shoot MTV Power Yoga and MTV Pilates. He owned and managed the yoga studio, At One, where we did our casting and rehearsals before filming on Pointe Tapatio Cliffs. Our paths continued to cross over the years. I even went on one of his amazing Yoga and Chocolate retreats at the Mii Amo spa as a treat to myself before my big wedding day.

He and his wife now live in NYC, which is awesome. It’s great to learn from him; and see how he continues to prosper, thrive and truly enjoy the moment in such a fast paced city.

#32 of 108: Style Your Thoughts

I will be the first to say that there are insects who have better style than me.

For instance, the butterfly has those fancy wings.

I wonder if a meager fly thinks, “There’s that goddam butterfly with its fancy wings.”

In which case, I would say to the meager fly, “But style is so much more than how you look.”

Elizabeth Gilbert said, “You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes everyday.”

So be aware what you are putting out there. Negative thoughts are bad style, let alone bad etiquette.

When you are entangled in an angry thought about an ex-lover, think of yourself in a chinchilla half shirt and knee pads. Angry thoughts are that ugly.
When you are dropping thought bombs on people that annoy you, think of yourself as a man in a pink g-string with a leather umbrella blocking the view of belligerent Buffalo Bills fans. Thoughts bombs are that bad.
When you are energy-slashing people with thought-sabres, think of yourself in a crotch-searing magenta unitard jogging down the Champs Elysses. Thought-sabres are extremely poor taste.
Remember, evolved people receive your thoughts quicker and more clearly than your emails.

So make sure you are in control of the highly advanced technology that resides in your skull.

What better time than the Fall to be stylish, classy, and beautiful …if not in what you wear…then certainly in how you think.

Kristin McGee is the ultimate THOUGHT STYLIST. I don’t know that I have ever met a yoga personality as sweet as she is talented (not to mention accomplished). Kristin has appeared on CNN, FOX , the CBS Morning Show, and ABC’s Good Morning America. And she has made her mark teaching the ancient practice to the likes of Tina Fey, Steve Martin, LeAnn Rimes, and Bethenny Frankel. Sight: The mountains (I’m an Idaho gal). Here’s a shot from my recent nuptials.

Sound: My hubby just showed me the most hilarious fun song, Gangnam Style by PSY, so I’ve been dancing around my living room to that!

Scent: A delicious coconut cake that I just made for birthday, I LOVE the smell of coconut.

Touch: Sinking in to a warm bubble bath at the end of the day.

Taste: My farmer’s market quinoa salad with fresh garlic, cherry tomatoes, corn, basil and lemon. Delish!
