Some Low-Cal Savory Snacks You May Not Have Tried Yet

Seaweed Snacks–these are awesome! They are so low-cal (50-60 calories for entire box), and the iodine in seaweed is great for your thyroid gland. They are the perfect snack to have when you just need a tide me over before dinner or need something to mindlessly munch on while watching TV. I personally LOVE Annie Chun’s Wasabi Seaweed Snacks.

Popcorn 479–I am a huge fan of popcorn, it’s low-cal, high fiber and full of antioxidants. I usually just air pop my own; but if you’re on the go or want to try some really delicious flavors, I highly recommend Popcorn479. An entire bag of the Black Truffle & White Cheddar (my favorite) is only 70 calories! Bring this to the movies for a light, less expensive alternative to movie theater popcorn.

Salmon Jerky–If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be salmon. I love salmon, it’s such a healthy food full of omega 3’s and good fats. Salmon jerky is a great snack to have on hand for those days when I just won’t have the chance to cook up a piece of fish. I love SnackMasters wild caught Alaskan salmon jerky.

Just Tomatoes–This company has great dried veggies. It can be tough to get the recommended serving of veggies in each day so having some to munch on for snacks, is a huge bonus. I love the Hot Just Veggies and the Just Peas. They are high in fiber, low in calories and crunchy. You can even throw on top of salads as healthy croutons.

Crum Creek Trail Mix–for savory/sweet, you can’t beat CrumCreek Soy nut trail mix. It’s a great snack mid morning or mid day or as an evening treat. I like to chill mine in the freezer and I often add a bag to a greek yogurt or to my oatmeal. The combination of salty soynuts (Organic & non GMO), sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds with the sweet raisins and dark chocolate make this snack so delicious. Only 130 calories a bag, you can’t go wrong!
