Stress

Stress manifests itself in many different ways, both emotionally and physically. You may experience insomnia, or you may find yourself sleeping too much. You could start eating more or forget to eat altogether. You might find yourself snapping at the smallest thing or likewise feel anxious or nervous in certain situations. Each case of stress is unique. But there are things you can do to help combat stress and relax your body and mind. Yoga can help alleviate stress, lower blood pressure and relax your soul. Certain poses can massage the spine and belly. Others can rejuvenate and energize you. A seated forward pose can help a sidetracked mind, and a lion pose can help you relax and blow off steam. If you are interested in using yoga to help ease your stress, consult a professional instructor who will be able to aid you in your journey. Likewise, meditation is a good practice to adopt if you have a busy life and a mind that you can never seem to stop from whirring around. When we are stressed, generally we also forget to look after ourselves. But this is when things start to crumble. Mindfulness is the practice of focusing your attention just on the present moment. It’s a skill that allows your body the time to part from your problems even if just for ten minutes at a time. It doesn’t’ get rid of our problems, but it teaches us to change our relationship with them. Mindfulness has origins in Buddhism. It’s a skill set that teaches you how to get your mind and body in sync, appreciate life more, get a fresh perspective and reduce stress and anxiety.

If you are an avid exerciser or play a lot of sport, you may sometimes get injuries that leave you feeling frustrated and unable to work at peak performance. Or it may be that you’re a parent or grandparent that has problems with arthritis or joint pain. If you are interested in natural remedies to help with pain, you may want to consider copper compression stockings. The combination of copper and compression can relieve the pain of injury and arthritis making it easier to move around more flexibly. Both arm and leg stockings can aid joint and muscle recovery and stimulate oxygen and improve circulation to working muscles. There are also lots of other natural remedies for aches and pains you may experience in your daily life. Spices such as turmeric have been known to help relieve inflammation. Cloves are really good for a toothache. Ginger has been proven to be effective for nausea and peppermint can help with relief from headaches.

Tiredness and extreme fatigue can make us feel really groggy and sick. If you are overworked and very stressed, think about taking a vacation. Holidays are beneficial for both rejuvenation and relaxation. Often not enough importance is placed on the fact that our bodies need downtime away from the stresses of life. If a holiday isn’t possible right now, consider other natural remedies for tiredness. Makes sure you have enough magnesium, potassium and iron in your diet. Potassium rich foods include potatoes, lentils, green leafy vegetables and oranges. Use the age-old remedy of ginseng to perk you up. Try and get into a routine of sleeping and waking at the same time each night and day. And keep hydrated with eight glasses of water a day.
