Chair Yoga & Montana: Retreat to Your Authentic Self

Going on a yoga retreat rejuvenates the mind, body, and spirit. As it happens, the word “retreat” is a bit of a misnomer. A retreat is the exact opposite of what the word for it might suggest. Instead of serving as an escape from daily life, the best retreats lead us deeper into our own personal health and development.

The peaceful and spiritually exhilarating environment of a yoga retreat is not, in fact, a removal from daily life. Rather, it’s a reminder of the deep peace that resides within us all, all the time. Chair Yoga & Your Sex Life

You don’t have to wait until October to get started. If you feel drawn to realign with that inner awareness, you can start today by tapping into your personal sexual energy. Sexuality is, after all, one of the most primal energies we humans experience. Getting real about sexuality is a personal, liberating journey, and you don’t even have to get out of your chair to begin. Yes, chair yoga can improve your sex life. Try these four poses to reignite your passion and tap into your sexual energy.  

Pelvic Tilts

First start out with pelvic tilts. Feet planted firmly on the floor and sitting at the edge of your seat, roll forward over your sitz bones and arch your lower back on an inhale. On an exhale, roll back and tuck your tail under as you scoop in your abs. This is a great warm up for feeling the pelvic floor muscles and tapping into your lower half.

Circles in Seat

Next start circling your pelvis around in one direction then circle in the opposite direction. I love this move for stirring up sexual energy and releasing tightness in the hips and lower back. When we are blocked off from our lower half, we feel less desirable or sexual.

Goddess with Side stretch

Goddess is a great pose for opening up the chest and tapping into our sexual energy. Sit with your feet wider than your hips and turn your toes out. Slide your right arm inside your right knee and stretch over to the side. Stay for five breaths and switch sides.

Scale Pose

The ultimate pose for working the pelvic floor! Place your hands on the seat of the chair and use your core to lift your body up off the chair. If this is too challenging only lift your seat, then only lift your feet. Just make sure to engage your pelvic floor muscles.

Backbend Arch

More oxygen to the lungs means more vitality and sexual energy. When you open up your heart and breathe deeply, you feel more alive! Sit tall and take your hands behind you as you lift your chest open and breath for five full breaths.
