Healthy Home Meal Deliveries

I talked about in my last post a few of my favorite shopping delivery boxes, but online shopping isn’t just limited to clothing and products these days. Another big craze is meal delivery services – you can have tonight’s dinner delivered straight to your door.  What I love about some of the new food delivery services is that they not only focus on convenience; but health as well. There are days (and weeks!) when I’m just too busy to cook. Living in NYC, there’s always the option of take out; but restaurant takeout tends to be heavy and low on nutritious veggies. Even when I can’t cook for my family, I still want to feed them something fresh and healthy. The following home meal delivery services are not just convenient; but also serve fresh, well-rounded meals. It’s like home cooking that shows up on your door step!

Munchery: This NYC/Seattle/LA/San Francisco based delivery services focuses on fresh meals, delivered daily. What I like about Munchery is that you don’t need to commit to a week, or a certain amount of meals – you simple chose the meals you’d like and order. Meals are all about $10-$15 and they offer a nice range of cuisine’s to chose from. Also, every meal lists the ingredients so you know exactly what’s going into your food.

HungryRoot: HungryRoot offers an easy way to get your daily dose of veggies in a creative way. The company offers different vegetable “noodles” paired with tasty sauces. They also offer some veggie based side dishes and some healthier versions of desserts (they’re chickpea based chocolate chip dough is great!). Again, there’s no commitment with HungryRoot so you can order as many meals as you need.

Freshology: A cool option for those looking for a more consistent delivery. Freshology offers 5 or 7 day programs and they’ve designed options ranging from gluten free, to weight loss, to new mom, to the healthy gourmet.

…and these are just the tip of the iceberg! I see more and more meal delivery services popping up each day – there’s something out there to fit everyone’s lifestyle and needs. Chinese food take out and pizza delivery are becoming a thing of the past 🙂
